Connecting Rural Roads in Bihar

The Ministry Of Rural Development has released grant in aid worth Rs. 43,54,59,000 (Rs.43 Crore 54 lakh 59 thousand) to M/s IRCON International Limited for construction of rural roads in Bihar under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The sum has been sanctioned subsequent to a tripartite agreement signed by M/s IRCON International Limited , Rural Development Department, Government of Bihar and the Union Ministry Of Rural Development as grants in aid for rural road construction in Bihar.

Pradah Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is a 100 % centrally sponsored scheme to provide road connectivity in the rural areas of the country. PMGSY envisages connectivity to all habitations with a population of 500 persons and above in the rural areas and about 250 persons and above in respect of the hill states, tribal areas and desert areas through good and all weather roads.
